Grizzly will be used in our breeding program until we have an official predecessor to our Thor.
Grizzly is owned by our friend and colleague Linda Batzer, just outside of Baltimore, Linda is a retired breeder with nearly 50+ years of experience and lovely bloodlines that were for years the staple on the east seaboard. Grizzly is from a 4 generation that stems from some of the great Belquest, Lobuff, Beechcroft, Castlerock and back to Dickendall. Of course not everyone is fluent with show lineage, but the base of any good breeding program has a strong foundation with correct confirmation and generations of health tested progeny.
About Grizzly: First off, I never thought I would see a male as large as Thor, but yes, Grizzly is tipping the scales at roughly 125 (maybe a smidge of extra fluff lol) He is taller than Thor and his bone and mass is amazing... Grizzly turned 7 in April so he isn't as vibrant has a shining 2 year old, but he literally looks and has the agility of a younger male. Grizzly has Good Hips and Excellent Elbows recorded with the Orthopedic Foundation and is also has an AKC DNA profile. If you have ever met our Dune, Grizzly has his exact personality... Grizzly knows no enemy... even with other stud dogs he is their best friend (unlike our Thor!) :) We have 2 daughters here at the Pines sired by Grizzly and both Hazel and Cleo are beautiful chocolate girls with fun and loving temperaments.
