Welcome to our picturesque 45-acre farm nestled in the serene landscape of north central West Virginia. Surrounded by winding trails, tranquil rivers, babbling creeks, and charming hollers, our slice of paradise is a haven for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts alike. Our diverse array of animal companions adds vibrancy to our homestead, from the graceful presence of a couple of our horses to our beautiful fluffy cows. Among them, our trusty barn cats reign supreme, diligently patrolling the grounds and basking in the warm sun atop the golden hay bales.
Nestled in the heart of our passion for animals, we take immense pride in our cherished ownership and meticulous breeding of English Labradors. With a steadfast commitment to upholding the exceptional English type, temperament, and adaptability that define the Labrador Retriever breed, we are unwavering believers in the pursuit of excellence. Our unwavering dedication to ensuring the well-being of our beloved companions is evident in our focus on their health and temperament, a cornerstone of our breeding philosophy.
Our dogs are not just pets; they are integral parts of our daily lives, seamlessly blending into every aspect of our routines. Whether they are joyfully bounding through the fields, assisting in fixing fences, lending a helping paw in tending to the cattle, or playfully frolicking in the garden while we weed, our dogs are always by our side, enriching our days with their presence. While our Labradors revel in the freedom to roam and explore, we also maintain secure kennels for their safety.
It is a common sight to spot either myself or Grant embarking on a woodland stroll, accompanied by our Labradors trotting beside us. The tranquil moments spent together, whether immersed in the beauty of nature or engaging in a spirited game of fetch by the pond, encapsulate the cherished bond we share with our dogs.
Grant and I have always had a profound appreciation for animals. My journey with led me to a fulfilling career at the Department of Agriculture at West Virginia University, where I dedicated many years to understanding and promoting sustainable practices. Meanwhile, Grant's path took him on a different but equally impactful route, serving in the military for over 24 years. Despite the demands of his military service, he never lost sight of his passion for agriculture and earned his Masters degree from the very same university that had become a significant part of both our lives.
Now, in retirement, I find myself immersed in the daily rhythm of managing our farm and home, a role that allows me to continue nurturing our connection with our land and animals. Our days are filled with the comforting presence of our beloved dogs, who bring joy and companionship.
