“Joy of the forest spirit” or “Ronja, the forest guardian.”
Ronja—better known around here as Roni (the cute nickname that somehow turned into “Macaroni”)—may sound like a big name for a little girl, but it fits her perfectly. She’s the daughter of our beloved Tovi, and from the start she’s felt like a “girl of the pines.” Ronja is a Scandinavian/Nordic name often understood as “joy” or “she who brings joy.” Skogsrå (often written Skogsra) comes from Swedish folklore and refers to a forest spirit/guardian—the keeper of the woods. Even as a puppy, Roni lives up to every bit of it. She’s pure sunshine: always happy, always ready to play, and eager to take on whatever adventure the day brings.
