A New Chapter in Our Matching Process - And It Worked Beautifully!
The Chewy & Rain litter was a test for our new process, and it worked amazingly!
This litter marked a significant shift in our process. Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, we weren't able to host our traditional Meet & Greet weekend. I'll be honest—I was nervous! As someone who genuinely wants every family to feel confident and happy, stepping away from our usual approach felt risky.
Here's what we did instead:
✨ In-depth temperament testing including our "grandchild bootcamp" socialization
✨ Detailed family questionnaires with thoughtful questions about home environment, lifestyle, and expectations
✨ Weeks of observation tracking each puppy's unique personality and interactions
✨ Data-driven matching using all the information gathered rather than in-person selection
I used those weeks of watching puppy dynamics to carefully pair each pup with the family best suited to their temperament. And wow—I'm genuinely amazed at how well it worked!
Each family received a detailed summary of their puppy's assessment, including temperament scoring and best-fit recommendations. I believe this transparency helped everyone feel confident that we truly invested in getting it right.
Example Assessment: Puppy "Burgundy Collar Girl"
Temperament Score: Level 2 (on a 1-5 scale)
Summary: Friendly, people-oriented, moderate energy. Enjoys attention and play but isn't over the top. Tends to blend well with the group rather than being the ringleader.
Best Fit: Very flexible puppy with balanced energy who would thrive in a home with other pets and social activity. Perfect for families seeking an affectionate, easy companion.
Moving forward: We'll continue hosting our Meet & Greet weekends because we love that personal connection, but we'll maintain this thoughtful matching process for final placements.
Thank you to all our families for trusting the process and being patient with this new approach. Your puppies are exactly where they're meant to be!
