Policy for Families Unable to Pick Up on Gotcha Weekend
Our Gotcha Weekend is scheduled so that littermates can leave within the same time frame and so we can give each family a proper send-off and orientation. We understand that occasionally schedules don’t align, and we’re happy to help when we’re able—but keeping pups beyond Gotcha Weekend does require extra time and resources on our end.
Why an Extended Stay Fee is Needed
Once most of the litter has gone home, a remaining puppy:Can no longer stay in the group nursery setting
This is essentially a short-term boarding and training period, rather than normal litter care.
Extended Stay RequirementsIf a family is unable to take their puppy home on Gotcha Weekend and we agree to keep the puppy longer:
Our goal is always to set puppies and families up for success. This policy allows us to give a longer-stay puppy the extra attention and structure they need, while keeping things fair and sustainable for our home and program.

Why an Extended Stay Fee is Needed
Once most of the litter has gone home, a remaining puppy:Can no longer stay in the group nursery setting
- Requires more one-on-one attention, including:
- Extra potty breaks and house training support
- Individual play/social time so they are not isolated
- Continued crate training and routine
- Must be managed around our regular kennel schedule, adult dogs, and (often) show or travel commitments

Extended Stay RequirementsIf a family is unable to take their puppy home on Gotcha Weekend and we agree to keep the puppy longer:
- Puppy must be paid in full
- Purchase price is due before Gotcha Weekend if the puppy will be staying beyond that date.
- Boarding Fee: $45 per day
- A boarding fee of $45 per day will be charged for each additional day the puppy remains with us after Gotcha Weekend.
- This covers food, daily care, cleaning, potty and crate training work, and the extra time required when there is only one (or very few) puppies remaining.
- Pre-arranged Pick-Up Date
- A new, specific pick-up date must be agreed upon in advance.
- We cannot offer open-ended holds; our schedule includes shows, vet visits, and other litters.
- Limited Availability
- Extended stays are not guaranteed and depend on our schedule and staffing at the time.
- If we are unable to provide extended care, families may need to arrange trusted local boarding or a pet sitter.
